We are going to Sundance Saloon’s Pride Hoedown on Friday, June 27.
Starlight Strut returns to Oakland on JULY 26. There will be no Starlight Strut dance here in the month of June.
What is Sundance Saloon and the Pride Hoedown?
Sundance Saloon is a country-western dance club in San Francisco for the LGBT+ community that many of us have been attending for decades. Much of the format and ethos of Starlight Strut is directly influenced by Sundance Saloon. Sundance Saloon hosts dances twice a week along with numerous special events. This Pride Hoedown is one of those special events.
Where and when is it?
The dance will be at a special venue: The Bayview Opera House - 4705 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94124. It's not that far from Sundance Saloon and is also directly served by the MUNI T-line (connects to MUNI/BART Powell St. Station) and the #24 from the Castro. You may also drive or carpool, but parking might be limited.
The event goes from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM with beginner lessons at 7:30 PM. Friday, June 27, 2025.
Who is going?
Please check out the photos below. A good portion of the crowd will be regular Starlight Strut dancers. There will also be cis-men, allies, out-of-towners, and people from all over. It’s lovely!
Attendees must be 21+ because alcohol will be served.
How much are tickets?
Admission is $20 in advance, or $30 at the door.
